Senior UX Researcher
About Acast
Since 2014, Acast has been building the world’s most valuable podcast marketplace, creating the technology that connects podcast creators, advertisers, and listeners. Its marketplace spans more than 140,000 podcasts, 3,300 advertisers, and one billion quarterly listens. Crucially, those listens are monetized wherever they happen—across any podcast app or listening platform.
About the role
We’re looking for a Senior UX Researcher to bring clarity, evidence, and direction to complex product decisions across our Creator and Advertiser experiences and support our ambitious strategy for 2026 and beyond.
You’ll operate end-to-end: shaping discovery, validating direction, and measuring impact post-launch. This is a hands-on senior IC role with high autonomy and strong influence across Product, Design, Engineering and beyond.
If you enjoy complex problems, ambiguous inputs, and being the calm, sceptical voice in the room, you’ll feel at home.
What you´ll do
Research Leadership
Own and drive end-to-end research across multiple product areas (focus on Creator Hub and Advertiser Hub).
Partner closely with Designers and Product Managers to shape problem definitions, not just validate solutions
Collaborate closely with Business Intelligence.
Help teams move from opinions and assumptions to evidence, without slowing delivery.
Discovery & Strategy
Plan and run generative research to uncover unmet needs, motivations, and behavioural patterns.
Translate research into clear, actionable insights that influence roadmap and prioritisation.
Identify cross-product themes and systemic issues, not just local UX problems.
Evaluative Research
Design and run usability testing, concept testing and prototype validation (early and often).
Support design teams with fast, pragmatic feedback loops.
Know when “good enough” is good enough.
Quant + Qual Balance
Confidently combine qualitative insights with quantitative signals (product analytics, experiments, surveys).
Collaborate with BI and Product to define success metrics and measure impact.
Research Ops & Craft
Improve how research is documented, shared, and reused across the organisation.
Contribute to scalable research practices, templates, and standards.
Champion ethical, inclusive, and accessible research practices.
Who you are
Must-haves:
7+ years of UX research experience, with time spent in complex digital products (marketplaces, platforms, B2B, SaaS, or similar).
Strong hands-on experience with a wide range of qualitative methods (interviews, usability testing, diary studies, concept testing).
Comfortable working with quantitative data and collaborating with analytics partners.
Ability and experience in combining qualitative, quantitative and data for holistic view of a question / problem
Proven ability to influence product direction, not just produce reports.
Clear, confident communicator who can bring stakeholders along for the ride.
Comfortable with ambiguity, shifting priorities, and imperfect information.
Nice-to-haves
Experience in media, creator tools, advertising, or marketplaces.
Experience researching multi-sided platforms (e.g. creators ↔ advertisers).
Familiarity with accessibility and inclusive research practices.
Experience working in international, distributed teams.
How we work:
Research is at the heart of our Design and Product work, but we’re pragmatic: speed matters.
Designers and PMs are research-literate; you won’t be starting from zero.
We value clear thinking, good judgement, and intellectual honesty over process.
You’ll have autonomy and accountability.
Culture
Acast is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, national origin or any of the other wonderful characteristics that make us different.
