Senior Software Engineer
About Acast
Since 2014, Acast has been building the world’s most valuable podcast marketplace, creating the technology that connects podcast creators, advertisers, and listeners. Its marketplace spans more than 140,000 podcasts, 3,300 advertisers, and one billion quarterly listens. Crucially, those listens are monetized wherever they happen—across any podcast app or listening platform.
About the role
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer that has the ability to work full stack, with proven frontend development skills and experience to deliver products with delightful user experience in our marketplace area.
Within campaign collaboration and management, our mission is to enable advertisers, creators and Acast internal personnel to effectively buy, plan and collaborate on podcast advertising campaigns. Pre-recorded ads and collaborative partnerships are well established forms of podcast advertising, and as the industry expands on the trusted creator-audience dynamic, new podcast advertising distribution channels emerge. We provide tooling to support podcast advertising collaboration, delivery and management at scale for all types of formats in a delightful manner for both advertisers and creators.
You will work in an autonomous, purpose driven team and take an important role in shipping new features while continuously increasing efficiency, stability and scalability of the systems. Beyond strong technical execution, the role requires an ability to interpret business and problem formulations together with your team, drive clarity, and turn that shared understanding into effective technical solutions. You are also expected to ensure that Acast continues to follow cutting-edge frontend development practices, both in our codebase and in how we shape our processes. You will be working in a multi-disciplinary environment with agile principles.
We run our infrastructure and systems on AWS. The systems are written in Node.js and Typescript, which you are expected to work with. We support our own systems and infrastructure in production.
What you´ll do
- You have experience with Node.js & Typescript
- You have experience with React
- You have experience with AWS or similar
- You have experience building delightful end user facing applications
- You have a pragmatic mindset and can make trade-offs on what to optimise for and when to ship
- You are keen to mentor others in the technical aspects you are already an expert in and you value working in a diverse team with developers of all experience and backgrounds. You value other people’s input no matter their experience level.
Where you will be
- Most of our teams are hybrids with some members co-located in offices and some working remotely. With a remote first way of working we want you to feel productive regardless of work location!
- For this role we’re hiring within Sweden, and therefore applicants will need the right to work in Sweden.
- We want to avoid teams distributed over time-zones, so this team will operate within the CET time zone for collaboration. This setup allows us for more flexibility and work-life balance.
Culture
Acast is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, national origin or any of the other wonderful characteristics that make us different.
Culture is our number one priority as a business. We believe people come first, and we work every day to enable autonomy, continuous improvement and bring out the best in people. We’re global and have remote teams, so it’s even more important that we strive for an open, inclusive and caring environment where everyone feels visible and welcome.
We consider ourselves a modern organization driven by strong values to create the best, most fulfilling and nurturing culture.
We very much look forward to finding the next great person to join our cause!
