About the role
The Senior Development Manager will serve as a key executor and collaborator within Acast’s growing Creator Network. In this role, you’ll support the implementation of Acast’s content strategy by contributing to the day-to-day acquisition pipeline and identifying creators that fit within Acast’s content portfolio, while bringing new audiences.. Reporting to the Director of Content, you’ll work closely with the Partnerships, Sales, and Marketing teams to ensure that content acquisitions align with broader company goals. This is a highly collaborative role for a skilled negotiator and creative thinker who understands what makes compelling audio content and thrives on working behind the scenes to bring content visions to life.
This role is ideal for someone with strong content instincts, excellent communication skills, and a track record of acquiring content within fast-paced, creative environments. You’ll be deeply involved in shaping how Acast discovers and nurtures new talent while ensuring that internal processes and project delivery run smoothly and effectively
Salary Range: $95,000 - $105,000
What you´ll do
Content Development Management
Execute the development strategy as set by the Director of Content by managing the acquisition process from identifying acquisition targets through negotiating and signing partnership agreements.
Track projects across the pipeline and ensure timely communication of updates, needs, and milestones to internal stakeholders.
Act as a point of accountability for maintaining momentum across projects in development.
Talent Scouting & Pipeline Building
Proactively identify emerging podcast talent and creators that will bring new audiences to Acast across a range of genres and platforms.
Develop a system for monitoring talent, managing follow-up conversations, and maintaining a robust talent pipeline.
Pitch Acast’s products and services, tailoring a compelling narrative to a creator’s specific needs.
Contribute creative ideas and feedback to help shape content proposals and evaluate potential fits for the Acast network.
Project & Workflow Optimization
Execute the day-to-day operations of the Development team’s processes—this includes building and optimizing workflows, setting up project tracking systems, and recommending tools or practices to increase efficiency.
Coordinate timelines and dependencies between internal teams to ensure projects stay on track.
Deal Support & Contracting Coordination
Take the lead on the negotiation and contracting process for new shows and creators, working closely with legal and business affairs.
Maintain clear documentation, timelines, and communication around deal terms and rights management.
Ensure that contract processes are handled efficiently and in line with strategic goals.
MG (Minimum Guarantee) Program Execution
Partner with team leads to ensure MG programs are tracked, implemented, and reported on.
Maintain documentation, timelines, and internal coordination for all talent within MG structures.
Flag risk areas and opportunities for strategic improvement.
Internal Team Support
Serve as a central touchpoint for development-related information, communicating key updates, milestones, and next steps to team members and leadership.
Help onboard internal stakeholders to new tools, workflows, or systems adopted by the Development team.
Cross-functional Collaboration
Work in close coordination with Sales, Marketing, Content Ops, and Business Affairs to align development initiatives with monetization and go-to-market strategies.
Collaborate on cross-functional projects that elevate Acast’s overall content and brand presence.
Audience Insight & Analytics
Analyze audience metrics and research to help refine pitches and development ideas.
Use data to identify gaps, opportunities, and trends in the podcasting landscape.
Industry Research & Competitive Awareness
Stay current on trends, new formats, distribution innovations, and standout talent in the audio and creator economy.
Provide regular updates to the Content team on relevant findings, competitor activity, and areas for experimentation.
Who you are
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Media, Journalism, or a related field; Master’s degree a plus.
Minimum 5 years of experience in content acquisition, preferably in digital media, audio, podcasting, or entertainment.
Demonstrated ability to identify and shape compelling content and creators.
Excellent organizational and project management skills; familiarity with tools like Airtable, Monday.com, or similar.
Comfortable managing multiple projects and timelines independently.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, especially in pitching, giving creative feedback, and liaising with stakeholders.
Collaborative, solutions-oriented, and driven by curiosity and a passion for great storytelling.
Deep knowledge of podcasting trends, formats, and monetization strategies.
